For your first reflection, write a rhetorical analysis of the two texts. Be sure to discuss the rhetorical categories we’ve covered (ethos, pathos, logos). You do not necessarily need to take a side; what I’m looking for is a cogent, thoughtful reflection on how the rhetoric is working in the texts. Consider how the authors establish their credibility, put forth strong or weak arguments, and evoke emotion in the reader. Are the authors proving their points successfully? What could make them stronger? What rhetorical moves do they make that you can employ in your own writing?
