Hi!!

If you could please answer to these following replies with 100-150 words each. Thank you

Lanice;

Dissemination can be presented in three ways (Ps), posters, presentations, and papers methods in the nursing field. Researchers should consider how the results will be disseminated from the beginning of the project. Developing a dissemination plan will help guide the research process and keep the researcher focused on the goal. Choosing the methods of dissemination and creating a plan are critical to the research project. In order for a project to truly be successful, the results must be shared with the appropriate audience in the right way.

There are two important method of dissemination internal and external.

For my internal EBP disseminating is our hospital Nursing Quality Counsel (NQC).

The purpose of the NQC is to identify, review and analyze data to measure and monitor nurse- sensitive patient outcomes, and recommend further action as a result of the data analysis.

My plan is to present my ULB capstone project to our hospital NQC this week. After presenting my project our NQC will review it and will give me feedback and then they will pass it if everything is ok.

The externa EBP disseminating method is the Patient-centered Comparative Effectiveness Research Center (PCERC) at the Brigham Research Institute is to make health care safer, higher quality, more accessible, reasonable and affordable by promoting research that is designed to improve the knowledge that allows patients, caregivers, clinicians, employers, insurers, and policy makers to make informed health decisions.

PCERC seeks to promote excellence in both Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR). Throughout the many different departments and divisions within Brigham and Women’s Hospital, there are currently 142 physician-scientists and PCOR related questions. To support this large research program, PCERC was established to: 1) bring this diverse research community together under a single umbrella; 2) foster collaboration and innovation; and 3) provide key resources to the research community to enhance funding and improve research outcome.

Another example of the external method of the disseminating is the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ). AHRQ supports important research to improve clinical decision-making, advance patient safety, decrease medical errors and enhance health care quality. Effectiveness: Improve health care outcomes by encouraging the use of evidence to make informed health care decisions. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) mission is to produce evidence to make health care safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and with other partners to make sure that the evidence is understood and used (AHRQ, n.d).

Ashley,

At my facility, Christus Mother Frances, if a new policy or protocol is to be introduced it must go through the proper channels; including the nurse senate committees. These committees include; the EBP and quality & safety committees. Once each of the committees has time to research the new protocol or policy then it is introduced to the hospital system via a cascading waterfall system.

A way to disseminate a new protocol or policy in Texas would be through the Texas Nurses Association. Every year they have a conference where they vote on the policies and protocols they wish to support and then plan for policies and protocols to add to the agenda for the following year. At these conferences nurses are able to meet with Texas legislators to discuss the policies, protocols and ideas they have. (“Nursing Policy”, 2019)

It is important to discuss new policies and protocols that we wish to enact to these specific bodies because they are the governing bodies that give permission to enact these policies and protocols. Without their consent and go ahead new ideas can go to waste. Ensuring their cooperation will help ensure no one’s time is wasted in hours upon hours of research.

Chiamaka,

While the last several decades have been marked by the development of several important preventive and clinical evidence-based practices (EBPs) for mental health problems among children and adolescents, the science of disseminating and implementing these practices into community and clinical settings has received considerably less attention. Indeed, the poor uptake of EBPs in usual care settings remains one of the major barriers to providing safe, effective, and efficient mental health care. The improvement of this process is the focus of dissemination and implementation research.

One internal method is Effective Healthcare (EHC) Program that funds individual researchers, research centers, and academic organizations to work with The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to produce effectiveness and comparative effectiveness research for clinicians and consumers and the external method is Comparative effectiveness research (CER) which compares the benefits, harms, and effectiveness of health interventions for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of clinical conditions and the improvement of health care delivery. CER assist patients and consumers, clinicians and other providers, and purchasers and payers to make informed decisions that will improve health care at both the individual and population levels.

Despite advances in the evidence base, some outcomes for children with mental health problems remain suboptimal. Reasons include issues with access to care and the failure of systems and providers to adopt established quality improvement (QI) strategies and interventions with proven effectiveness (e.g., evidence-based practices (EBPs)). The current health care system continues to provide fragmented care to children and adolescents in numerous uncoordinated systems, rendering inefficiently the delivery of needed services.

Given the gap between observed and achievable processes and outcomes, one way to improve the mental health care of children and adolescents is to adopt QI practices; another is to develop strategies to implement or disseminate interventions with known effectiveness. Such strategies target changes in the organization and delivery of mental health services. They seek to improve the quality of care and patient outcomes by closing the gap between research evidence and practice.
