Jackson long-term goal is to improve his speech intelligibility (being understood when speaking in all situations), with emphasis on the /r/ and /l/ sounds. He also works on some language goals and you may work on both areas. This is a fairly structured, clinician directed session (versus client directed). For the 2nd video you will watch Kaitlyn who is 8 years old. She has a frontal lisp on /s/ and /z/ sound. Her therapy is structured using drill and conversational practice. This is a later stage of therapy when “carry over” or “generalization” to everyday conversation is a goal. Complete an observation report when completed and consider how her “speech sound disorder” is similar or different than Jackson’s.
