Part 1
Choose a new poem to analyze from the assigned reading list, and title your post with the poem’s title. (The reading list is found in the Syllabus and thread starters, and all of our course readings are in the class eBooks. Click on the book’s title in the Syllabus.) Do not use the poem you analyzed in Week 1’s discussion or essay assignment. Review the Closed List in the thread starters to make sure the poem is still available.
You may use the following questions to develop a paragraph response to your new poem, or you may discuss another more appropriate literary element (e.g., imagery, characterization, theme) as best fits your selection:
Tips:Remember to provide evidence for your claims in the form of quoted passages from the poem. Quotations, paraphrases, and summaries should be cited according to APA rules of style, including in-text and reference citations. Quoted material should not exceed 25% of the document. Check grammar and spelling before posting.

Part 2 Poetry Analysis – Final Draft
Consider the feedback you received on the Week 1 rough draft from your instructor, peers, and Smarthinking (if your paper was submitted for review), and determine what changes you want to make. Consider:
Once you have revised the essay, review it for editing issues. Run the spell checker and grammar checker in Word, and then proofread, looking for typos the checkers might have missed. Read it aloud to listen for awkward places and to fine tune the flow. Make sure you have applied APA rules of style to source citations as well as the overall formatting of your essay.
