1. U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents greater than five continuous years are eligible for Medicare. This benefit is most often associated with the elderly, but Medicare benefits are available for younger population with disabilities after you receive Social Security Disability Insurance for 24 months.“Medicare is not just health insurance for older Americans.
