For this assignment I’d like you to read your assigned peer reviews, offering any notes you see fit within the comments section on the ePortfolio pages. You can make any comments you like, but you should be on the lookout especially for aspects of the Reflexive Introduction that are confusing to you, or require more explanation.

In addition to your comments on their web pages, in a separate document please answer the following. Upload this document in your peer review section on Canvas:

1) Does the student make concrete claims about the progress of his/her writing in specific areas, or is this just a summary of work done in class?

2) Is there an element of narrative to the overall Reflective Introduction? Do you have a sense of how this student’s writing progressed and evolved, or does this feel like a list?

3) Is there some attempt to reflect on why each moment of difficulty or improvement helped the student learn or progress as a writer, or is the structure more along the lines of “I did X, then I got better”?

4) Does the student support these claims with sufficient evidence?

a) If images, are there detailed captions and explanations within or next to the image? Are these captions distinct from the main body of text?

b) If text, does the student identify specific sentences, words, or momentsas evidence to substantiate his/her claims?

c) Does the student use links to other parts of the portfolio to evidence claims? Does the student draw from peer review, instructor comments, and pre-writing material?

5) Does the author address both successes AND struggles, or does this feel like a uniform narrative of triumphal progress? Does the author make some attempt to address remaining gaps in her or her writing?

6) Are you convinced by the student’s claims of learning or progress in each of the 4 major areas? Why or why not? Point out a moment where the evidence seems insufficient to justify the claim.

Overall/Layout

1) Does the ePortfolio have a home page? Does it frame the site and introduce the student?

2) Does the ePortfolio have separate sections for the Reflective Introduction, HCP (with all drafts), AP (with all drafts), and Process Reflections?

3) Are these sections easily navigable? For the paper sections, are there links to each draft? Is the text of each draft present in the ePort, or are you forced to download the whole file?

4) Do the paragraph captions at the top of each HCP and AP Draft Page make detailed claims about the draft involved, or are these brief and summary overviews?
