For this field journal, I would like you to find someone from a culture (ideally someone who has

immigrated to the United States, but may also be someone whose parents immigrated)

other than your own to interview. We are going to expand upon your field work skills yet again by conducting interviews

of someone who likely has a very different worldview than yourself. Ask them about their experiences as

an immigrant, learning a new culture and new language. Some questions to consider (you donâ€™t have to

use these exact questions):

o Where are you from?

o How long have you/your family been in the United States?

o Was it hard to adjust to life in the United States?

o Did you know English before you/your family came here?

o Was it difficult learning a new language?

o What has been the biggest challenge for you/your family?

o What has surprised you the most about the United States?

Create a 1 page document, single spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, describing the results of your

interview. Please make sure to include a summary of the questions you asked. Conclude with a short

analysis of the interview from your perspective (2 to 3 sentences)
