His collage work involves combining bits and pieces of colored and printed papers to create abstract works of art that tell stories of African American life and culture. He is also considered a cubist, meaning he emphasizes geometric shapes as he constructs his compositions.Pick one of Bearden’s complex collages to interpret as a DRAWING, giving emphasis to the geometric shapes you discover in the composition.
