Please find (do not make) a COLLAGE from the internet that you think represents US History prior to 1877. This can be an image of ONE event or MANY events. Once you have your image; please paste it into the discussion (Do NOT just put a link to the image and Do NOT upload the image). Provide at least 1 paragraph that explains why you think the image represents US History prior to 1877. Make sure you are clear in your explanation.

For Example:

I picked this image because it has various people that represent the period we are studying. For example there is an image of George Washington. Washington is known for his leadership within the French-Indian war and also he was the First President for the newly formed USA. In addition, he set the term limit for future Presidents – 2 terms/max 8 years. Harriett Tubman is also depicted in the image above. Tubman was instrumental in assisting Blacks escape Slavery and was a conductor for the Underground railroad. Tubman used songs to help assist Slaves toward freedom. Although there are other historical significant people in the image above…I chose to only discuss Tubman and Washington.

Part B 2 Current Events

• Discussion II – Students need to discuss 2 Current Events. Provide a YouTube link of your current event (has to be between the years 2015 and 2019). After you have uploaded your YouTube Current Event link do the following:
  • Provide a paragraph that summarizes the Current Event
  • Provide a paragraph that discusses ONE historical event that is connected to your current event. The historical event has to be prior to 1877
    • Remember in your paragraph to tell me how the Historical Event is connected to your current event
  • Students need to do the BULLETS Above – TWO Times. The events do not need to be connected

For Example: You can find a current event that is about Women’s Rights, Human Trafficking…these events are not connected but do connect to the past.
