help me to finish a ra paper peer review write review for the classmate

It’s the peer review step for this paper. Could you follow the instruction and give some good comments and question for these two people? You can revise on the word document directly.

Because it’s also said “*The quality of your comments will count toward your Class Community grade“

Write your own Peer Review Questions

Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT the reviewer’s job to comment on every single issue that they see. Both the writer and the reviewer must prioritize the most pressing issues. Or you can see it as

Writing your own questions for your peer reviewer to answer has the benefit of helping you to assess how your essay is currently doing. And it takes some pressure off the reviewer too, making it easier for them to address your concerns efficiently.

When writing your own peer review questions, BE AS SPECIFIC AS POSSIBLE! Questions like “how clear is my thesis?” are really broad and unhelpful. Broad, unhelpful questions tend to get broad, unhelpful answers.

You can also ask for particular suggestions about how to solve a specific issue that you already recognize. Give your assessment of what’s going on in a particular passage and explain the options you’re considering, or ask the reviewer to diagnose the cause of the problem and offer advice on how to fix it.

Point out specific passages, paragraphs, sentences. For example, “In the second paragraph on p. 3…” or “On p. 2, the sentence beginning ____” or “in my introduction, conclusion, 5th body paragraph…”

Focus on higher-order concerns dealing with argument, evidence and analysis, source integration, and overall organization/logic. Save questions about word choice and sentence structure for cases when rephrasing a key sentence or choosing a different word will improve the clarity of the arguments and analysis.

Peer Review Workshop Instructions

For Writers

1. Review Best Practices for Peer Review.

2. At the end of your RA Draft #2, start by summarizing briefly the revisions you’ve made so far. How have you tried to clarify and strengthen your arguments and analysis, improve your source integration, and smooth your organization and style? Be specific and point out specific revisions you have made in specific passages.

3. Next, write down your questions about your RA draft. There’s no limit to how many questions you can ask, but please respect your reviewers’ time by focusing on higher-order issues. At this stage, what are you most concerned about, and what do you want to know from your reviewer?

Your goal is to make it as easy as possible for your reviewers to give you the feedback you need. Make your questions specific and refer them to specific pages as needed.

4. Submit your draft and peer review questions in the same document to Canvas.
