The natural ecosystem of the biosphere is termed as ‘biome.’
As we know that this term is applied to the community over a large geographical region. It is also supported by Victor Shelford (1932). A biome is a climatic climax. The animals of the biome are termed as permeants by Victor Shelford. We can say each major ecosystem of terrestrial or aquatic habitats as biome. Based on the habitats broadly we divide the biomes into the following categories.
