Hello Everyone…

According to research, the correlation between variables does not necessarily mean that there is a change in one variable or the change in the variable of the other. Causation is one event that results in occurrence of the other. Correlation does not mean causation because a correlation is a mutual relationship between two variables whereas causation is the relationship between cause and effect. They are not the same and in one, a relationship exist versus one reacts off of the other.

“Correlation means causation.” I reject this claim. If two variables are correlate, it does not necessarily mean one is the cause of the other. If two variables have a cause and effect relationship, once can say they are correlate. For example, whenever it rains my aunt says her joints hurt. There my be some level of correlation here but my Aunt’s joint doesn’t hurt because of the rain. It hurts because she has arthritis and cooler temperatures tend to irritate a bit. I don’t know if this is a good example but its one that came to mind and seems to fit our argument about correlations and causation.
