Write a critical analysis of two essays discussed in class, in an essay that is 750 to 900 words long. Analyse any two essays we have read in class and take a compare and contrast approach to your work. With this approach, develop an analysis about the similarities and differences between their arguments and how any two of the following rhetorical features are used by the authors: narrative perspectives, vocabulary (which may include keywords and/or key phrases), titles, introductions and conclusions, settings (time and place), evidence, symbolism, imagery, metaphors and similes, irony, hyperbole, puns, and tone.
Include an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion in your essay; ensure that your introductory paragraph contains a clear thesis statement. You may include a very brief summary of your chosen primary texts, but ensure that your own analysis constitutes at least 80 – 90 percent of your essay. To enrich your analytical argument you must include 2 to 4 quotes in your essay, and document them with parenthetical citations and a Works Cited page. Provide your name, class (Engl 102 OP05), date, and word count in the upper-right corner of the first page. Double space your essay, write it in a 12-point font such as Times New Roman, and staple your pages.
