1. Create a nonrepresentational work that conveys some emotion or idea related to your personal inner world. Give the work a title that will help the viewer understand the content of the work.

1. Trace an image from a magazine or a photograph. Make sure that the image is at least 5×7”. Then simplify the tracing to create an abstraction or stylization of the original image. The image may relate to any of the themes we studied this week. Post in the gallery the original and the abstraction at separate times so that your fellow students can enjoy trying to match the abstraction with the original.
