Objective
The purpose of the menu review is to review and report the variety of wine or style of beer on a menu and how the food and restaurant theme supports the beverage selections. The restaurant must be in a global hotel.
Method
State the name and type of restaurant, its address and location. Include a copy of the wine list or the beer selection. A minimum of two APA references must be included.
Discuss
Location – Is it easy to find? What is the neighborhood or surrounding area like? What type of hotel is the restaurant situated in? What does the building exterior look like?
Category – What type of cuisine is served? Is this a casual sit-down café, or linen-and-china fine dining? What are the prices like? Is the restaurant inexpensive, moderate, expensive, or very expensive? Is one expected to dress up to eat there?
Ambiance (atmosphere) – What type of music, decoration and lighting does the place have or expect to have? What kind of customers does it generally attract or expect to attract (i.e., business people, tourists, students, seniors, young couples on a date?)
Menu – What do you think of the selection? (Be sure to include a brief evaluation of each section on the menu: appetizers, entrees, desserts, wines and beer).
Suggest – Suggest one pairing with wine or one pairing with beer and the reason you paired the food and beverage.
